Theo and Daniel meet on their old football pitch. They used to be here almost every day, but Daniel has moved away and seems more distant. As they play, Theo tries to reconnect with how things used to feel, but Daniel doesn’t seem like the same person anymore. Between quick passes, quiet moments, and fleeting glances, Theo begins to realize how much something between them has changed.

Every morning, the boy looks out over the lake through his binoculars and watches the fisherman cast his nets. But one day, the fisherman is gone. Where is he? What happened to him?

“A Rabid Peacock” was created as part of an advanced art course. I set out to make a surreal short film, drawing inspiration from Luis Buñuel and Salvador Dalí’s Un Chien Andalou (1929). In general, films of this kind are not meant to be rational or logically explainable. Nevertheless, I had a concept in mind for this film, and throughout the planning and execution, I kept the guiding principle “Beauty is absurd” in mind.

When Blibsi (a fish) and her friends (a crab and an eel) follow the call of adventure, the above-water world begins to shake—and reveals its true face. An absurd, playful, and profound short film adventure about the right to set boundaries—and the courage to break free.
