Bahar Bektaş

Writer and Director | lives in Berlin

Bahar studied screenwriting/dramaturgy and social pedagogy. In her work, the filmmaker has dedicated herself to the mission of uniting film and social issues. She has worked as a writer for series such as MADE IN GERMANY and A BETTER PLACE. The film VERRÜCKTES BLUT, for which she co-wrote the screenplay, won the Jury Short Film Award at the Hof Film Festival. With her documentary debut EXILE NEVER ENDS, she won the Hessian Film Award and is currently nominated for the Grimme Award 2025.

Jamila Wenske

Film producer and CEO of ACHTUNG PANDA! | born 1975 | lives in Gristow, Berlin and Freiburg

Jamila studied at the Film University Babelsberg and L’ATELIER Paris-Ludwigsburg. Her successes include ELLBOGEN by Aslı Özarslan (Berlinale 2024), Juho Kuosmanens COMPARTMENT NR.6 (Grand Prix Cannes 2020) and DER GLÜCKLICHSTE TAG IM LEBEN DES OLLI MÄKI (UCR Cannes 2016). In 2018 she was awarded PRODUCER TO WATCH by Variety and participated in the 1st Female Leadership Program SHIFT. In 2022, Screen International selected her production company as one of EUROPE’S 75 leading independent producers.

Jakob Kijas

Distributor | born 1983 | lives in Berlin

Jakob founded the distribution company eksystent Filmverleih in 2015, which specializes in independent films with exceptional aesthetic standards. The distribution company’s commitment was honored by the DEFA Foundation with the Program Award and also received the Innovation Award from the German Film Critics’ Association.

Jeanne Lehmann | Jury Moderation  

Art historian | born 1994 | lives in Copenhagen

Jeanne works with sensitive photography at the intersection of anthropology and visual storytelling. She is the co-founder of 48h of Hygge, a time-based short film festival, and has a passion for visual culture and storytelling.

Saara Mildeberg | OFFshorts Moderation

Freelance photographer and researcher at the University of Tallinn | born 1992 | lives in Tallinn

Born and raised on the Baltic Sea, Saara lives and works in Tallinn as a freelance cultural critic and photographer as well as a researcher at the University of Tallinn. She not only writes about cultural events, but has also worked at various film festivals across Europe.
