Music Video Awards
The PopFiSH Music Video Awards celebrate the creative fusion of music and film. Each year, over 60 music videos submitted by filmmakers and musicians from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern are reviewed, and the ten best entries are selected to be showcased during the festival.
A three-member expert jury awards the Music Video of the Year, while the audience votes for their personal favorite. This creates a lively exchange between artists, the jury, and the audience, full of inspiration, discussion, and creative energy.
Since 2014, the competition has been organized in collaboration with PopKW e.V., the state association for popular music and the creative industries of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
Jury
The PopFiSH jury is made up of experts from the film and music industries. In the past, musicians and artists such as Mulay, Moritz Krämer, Cäthe, Ingo Georgi, Steph von Beauvais, Arabella Bartsch, Christine Franz, Birgit und Horst Lohmeyer and Kay Otto have served on the panel.
In addition to expertise in directing and performance, the jury also includes professionals from music festivals, production, and management. This ensures that each submitted music video is evaluated from multiple perspectives and that emerging talents receive valuable, constructive feedback.
