Terms and conditions

only official or band- / artist-authorized music videos
The filmmakers (at least the directors) or the artists must be from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and/or have a clear connection to the region (e.g. born or founded here and/or have made a lasting impact or are currently active in MV).
The music video must not be older than 2 years, i.e. for the PopFiSH 2026 competition: completed after January 1, 2024.

There are no entry fees for the competition.
A selection committee decides by February on the admission of a film for the competition in the festival.
The selected videos will be discussed and evaluated by a jury of experts at the festival.
The decisions of the selection committee and the award jury regarding the film evaluation are final. Legal recourse is excluded.
Filmmakers must be present either in person or via Zoom in order to be eligible to win one of the awards.

Each film submission must include information about the filmmakers (all creatively involved).
Third-party services in idea, image and sound are to be shown.
Possible rights of third parties must not be violated.
All rights to the video remain with the filmmakers.
By accepting the terms and conditions of the competition, the filmmakers agree that their videos may be used for the public relations of the festival and copied for the archive of the Institute for new media.
With the admission of videos to the competition, the organizer requests permission to broadcast them on the open channels of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
The screening, publication or making of copies by the organizer requires the express permission of the filmmakers.
All performing rights of the video within the festival are owned and declared by the submitter.

Final Agreement

By submitting to the PopFiSH competition, the filmmakers accept the above conditions and instructions.
