The decisions of the selection committee and the award jury regarding the film evaluation are final. Legal recourse is excluded.
Filmmakers must be present either in person or via Zoom in order to be eligible to win one of the awards.
Copyright and performance rights
Each film submission must include information about the filmmakers (all creatively involved).
Third-party services in idea, image and sound are to be shown.
Possible rights of third parties must not be violated.
All rights to the film remain with the filmmakers.
By accepting the terms and conditions of the competition, the filmmakers agree that their films may be used for the public relations of the festival and copied for the archive of the Institute for new media.
With the admission of films to the competition, the organizer requests permission to broadcast them on the open channels of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
The screening, publication or making of copies by the organizer requires the express permission of the filmmakers.
All performance rights of the film within the festival are owned and declared by the submitter.
Technical notes
Viewing copies can be submitted in .mp4 format on USB media or via web link (e.g. Vimeo, Dropbox, YouTube). A file in H.264 codec in FullHD is sufficient for this purpose.
Screening copies are to be submitted in the best possible quality and with English subtitles, ideally in ProRes or comparable codecs, via download link or a USB data carrier as a single file. The video resolution should not fall below 1920×1080.
The submission deadline for screening copies will be communicated to the filmmakers by the organizer.
Submitted data carriers or transmitted files must be legibly and permanently labeled with information on the film title, name of the submitter, year of production, and running time of the film.
Data carriers can only be returned if the submitter pays the postage.
The organizer assumes no liability for damage or loss of any kind.
